A historic international sailing regatta taking place every year in the Gulf of Trieste on the second Sunday of October, known for drawing in record number of participants, it is now considered the most crowded regatta in the world. This amazing competition involves both expert sailors and sailing lovers racing side by side on boats of different sizes divided into several divisions according to their length. A tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, over two hundred stalls and many attractions for young and old characterize the traditional fair of Sant\u2019Andrea, held every year between the end of November and the beginning of December. One of the most popular market fairs in all of Friuli Venezia Giulia and part of Slovenia, the only event still held in its entirety in the city center.
